A UNESCO dedica o Dia Internacional da Educação de 2023 às meninas, jovens e mulheres do Afeganistão que foram privadas do seu direito de prosseguir os estudos tanto no ensino secundário, como no ensino superior. Num acontecimento de alto nível organizado na sede da ONU, a UNESCO renovará a sua chamada de atenção para que seja imediatamente restaurado o seu direito à Educação. "Nenhum país no mundo pode impedir mulheres ou meninas de terem acesso à Educação." Disse a Diretora Geral da UNESCO. "A comunidade internacional tem a responsabilidade de assegurar que os direitos das meninas, jovens e mulheres afegãs sejam repostos sem demora. A guerra contra as mulheres tem que terminar."

 

International Day of Education

UNESCO is dedicating this year's International Day of Education to girls and women in Afghanistan who have been deprived of their right to pursue secondary and higher education. At a high-level event organized at the UN headquarters, UNESCO will renew its call to immediately restore their fundamental right to education. “No country in the world should bar women and girls from receiving an education,” said UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. “The international community has the responsibility to ensure that the rights of Afghan girls and women are restored without delay. The war against women must stop.”
